A Valandré down product is built with nothing but high quality raw materials and to zero defect specifications. With a bit of care, your Valandré product will last your entire career as a trekker, mountaineer or Himalayan explorer. It therefore merits a few special considerations:

Compression:
To ensure maximum performance of the down, it's critical that the down is only compressed when needed. During its initial lifecycle, the down is only compressed in the time span from Valandré purchasing an order until the order arrives in the store.

This is made possible by the way we manage our stock with almost daily supplies of down and leaving products "empty" until the day they are shipped.

When not in use, store your down product loosely in a clean, airy place. It should be compressed only during transport or in your rucksack.

Washing instructions:
Down can be washed at 35° C / 95° F by hand or machine using natural soap or special soap intended for down (or even regular shampoo).

DO NOT dry clean your down product as the solvents used can strip away natural oils contained in the down.

Rinse twice or three times to completely remove soap.

Hang dry in a warm place out of direct sunlight or air-dry at lowest machine temperature. When dry, shake to distribute down evenly in the compartments.

Use a sleeping bag liner
Using a Valandré Morphee bag liner helps to absorb perspiration and dirt, lessening the need for frequent washings. It thereby prolongs the life of your sleeping bag.
