Making a quality product takes a lot of things.
First of all it takes quality raw materials. At Valandré we often go a long way and pay that little extra to actually get what we believe is quality. Sure, we could buy some of the things cheaper - but then we would have to compromise in our own standards and don't want to do that.

Down
Obviously, one of the primary raw materials is down. In contrast to your competitors, we are only a few hours by car from where we get our down. This gives us a unique opportunity with regards to product control and deliverance.
We know every last detail about the down that we get delivered; in fact we almost know the name of the animal that gave it up.
Due to the low cost of transportation, down is delivered to us on an almost daily basis. This also gives us the opportunity to have the down transported with a minimum of compression.
Fabric
We only use one supplier of fabric, namely Asahi Kasei. The reason for this is simple, they make the best available fabric for down products with regards to ability to contain the down, breathability, weather resistance, endurance and abbrassion.
Other materials in use
Obviously, producing sleeping bags and clothing takes more than just down and fabric. But choosing from different manufacturers is done in the same way: We want quality. And if that means paying more money, then so be it.
For example, a thing such as draw cords are cheap if you settle for elastic. But we need semi-elastic draw cords to ensure both flexibility and firm grip. That means tripling the price, but we still want it because it gives us what we want, and you what you need - uncompromising quality and functionality.
